A self-sufficient small power station
The Energieeffizienzhaus Plus in Berlin, a former model project, has been contributing to research into climate solutions for over a decade. All energy-efficient strategies are housed in an area of 130 square metres: a heat pump and state-of-the-art photovoltaic systems ensure that more electricity is generated than the residents consume. The surplus electricity is stored in high-performance batteries and is used to refuel electric vehicles at the building's own charging station. The intelligent planning minimises heat loss and optimises the building technology, turning the detached house into a self-sufficient small power plant. The compact cube, clad with black photovoltaic and glass elements, houses three. From the entrance area with charging infrastructure to the two-storey living area. With a barrier-free ground floor and a low-barrier upper floor, as well as a modular design that enables flexible conversion, the Energy Efficiency House Plus sets new standards for sustainable construction - and SANCO glass products, used in the building envelope, make a significant contribution to this.
