Many a subway station surprises with architecturally elaborate details. This is also the case at Kaulbachplatz in Nuremberg: the unique entrance by Haid Architekten provides the connection to the underground. The design sensitively deals with the floral art nouveau architecture of the surrounding houses and convinces with natural forms. The combination of concrete, oval windows and glass roofs sets a contemporary aesthetic accent and fulfills its usage requirements in an elegant and restrained manner.
 
Our member Glas Trösch Nördlingen equipped this unique building with SANCO LAMEX laminated safety glass. A unique glass construction was also required, as the supporting glass gravity beams have a constantly changing angle of inclination. The glass supports hidden in the concrete also posed a challenge that could only be solved through close cooperation between architects, engineers involved and specialists in structural glass engineering.
