Intercultural interaction with Glas Trösch (Bad Krozingen)
Thanks to its cross-border location on the banks of the Rhine, with a direct connection to France via the nearby Pierre-Pfimlin Bridge, the European Forum serves as a place for transnational cooperation and Franco-German cultural interaction.
Designed and realised by the architects of the Grossmann Group, who are known for their visionary concepts, a multifunctional building was created here in 2019.
It houses BAAL, the only bi-national theatre in Europe, offices of MEPs from both countries and a permanent exhibition by the artist and border crosser Werner Ewers. This makes the forum a dynamic meeting place for everyone.
The fact that borders are blurred here is also reflected in the striking design of its entrance area: the glass surfaces inclined at different angles give it a lively and futuristic look, which was honoured by the German Design Council in 2022 as part of the German Design Awards.
Our partner Glas Trösch (Bad Krozingen) has contributed to the appearance with its products used throughout the building: the high-quality double insulating glass SANCO Plus EN2 offers optimum building insulation, while the triple thermal insulation glass SANCO Plus ZERO NG corresponds to a modern energy concept.
