Historic charm, modern qualities with Sebald Kontore
Nuremberg's Old Town, which was carefully rebuilt after being almost completely destroyed in the Second World War, is characterised by its steep roofs and striking red and yellow sandstone façades. Part of this architectural landscape is the Sebald Kontore, a modern office building that blends seamlessly into the historic fabric of the city. Designed by gpwirtharchitekten, the building not only pays homage to the three key architectural elements of the old town - pitched roofs, sandstone and perforated façades - but also takes a bold, individual approach. The innovative design decisions go beyond aesthetics: the building utilises geothermal technology for heating and cooling, demonstrating its commitment to sustainability.
