Because the Kopernikus-Gymnasium in Wasseralfingen had become too small for its 600 pupils, the physics and chemistry classrooms and other classrooms were given a modern update in an extension. The challenge was to complement the brutalist existing building. With a combination of concrete, glass, colorful accents and an exciting cubature, LIEBEL/ARCHITEKTEN succeeded excellently.
Our partner Glas Trösch Nördlingen not only supplied the SANCO Plus EN2 insulating glass with outstanding thermal insulation and excellent light transmission, but also the SWISSRAILING glass railing system with yellow SANCO LAMEX COLORDESIGN. In addition to functionality, this also enhances the long-distance effect of the building and the atmosphere in the interior spaces. This was also recognized by the jury of the Exemplary Building Award, which honored the project in 2014.
